Yom

YOM was born in Paris, France, in July 1970. He started to paint in his early childhood and later studied political science and journalism. At the age of 24, he joined the French Foreign Legion. Upon his return to France, he accepted an invitation by his Aunt Niki de Saint Phalle to complete his artistic training in San Diego, California.

He began his work in sculpture as a welder, trained by Marcello Zitelli, Niki’s main assistant for 20 years. He then went on to mosaics and later turned to composite materials. YOM completed his training with Raymond Hains in 2002/2003 in Paris and now has ambitions to revolutionize contemporary sculpture through his own artistic language.
