Laurent Guérin

Laurent Guérin was born in 1969 in Montreal. He began his career as a fashion photographer but he rapidly distinguished himself in various group exhibitions.

He had his first solo exhibition in 2006 at Galerie Orange (Montréal) and several group shows that year, notably at Mira Godard Gallery (Toronto) and at the Toronto International Art Fair. He also exhibited at the Elliott Louis Gallery (Vancouver) at an event called «Art for AIDS Orphans», at the Harbourfront Centre (Toronto) on «The Summit of the Americas», and at Galerie SAS (Montreal) as part of an exhibition entitled «Guerre et Paix» (War and Peace). He was also invited by the organization «World Press Photo», presenting a series of photographs taken in India, «Les enfants de la gare», in the main hall of the Maison de la Culture Frontenac (Montreal).

In addition to being chosen for the prestigious LUX prize of Grafika magazine (Montreal), his photographs have been published internationally in various magazines such as Time (New York), Express (Paris), Vibe (Toronto) and Urb (Los Angeles). An accomplished globetrotter, Laurent Guérin, has also piloted small aircrafts since 1997, flying over Morocco, Panama and Quebec.
