Jean-Pierre Morin
Jean-Pierre Morin was born in 1951 at Saint-Anselme de Dorchester (Québec), and currently works and lives in Québec city. Since 1988, the sculptor has completed over twenty public works in the context of the program that aims to integrate art and architecture. Among the places in which Morin’s works may be found: the SAAQ’s head office and the ExpoCité fair center in Québec; on Yorkville street in downtown Toronto; at the main entrance of the Grande Bibliothèque du Québec and at Molson park, in Montréal.
His works have been part of many exhibits in Québec, in Canada, in the United States, and in Europe. In 2003, he received the Prix Videre Reconnaissance de la Ville de Québec, which underlined the remarkable work the sculptor has done. His works are part of many public and private collections, such as: Loto-Québec, Cirque du Soleil, SAJO, Canada Art Bank Collection, Montreal Contemporary Art Museum, Prêt d’oeuvres d’art du Musée du Québec, Musée du Bas St-Laurent, Musée régional de Rimouski, Musée de Joliette, Banque Nationale du Canada, Capitale Nationale Collection, and Musée National des Beaux-Arts du Québec (as part of the prize Monique & Robert Parizeau Foundation).
